Writing

Let's start with the good news! I have yet to break my daily writing streak since April :D Between the NaNo site goal and china_shop's hosted Write Every Day Challenge, I'm being held accountable enough to keep going strong *pumps fist*

This means I finished a lot of shorter stuff! On top of the ones I posted so far (see below), I've also finished two more Da Qing codas for the King of Cats Adventures event and a kidfic for my parents!Weilan series. I am now dabbling with Void Creature (tentacle smut), the Already Married AU, and the missing chapter 4 of Shen Wei, Accidental Lesbian Whisperer. Also plotting to get started on the edits for the Arranged Marriage AU, so I can maybe add all my July words on top of that (the Guardian discord is talking about doing a Focus On Longfic write-a-long kinda thing where we encourage each other to keep going strong <3)

Work & Applying for a Master's Program

Since I got my bachelor's degree this spring, I'm applying for master's programs in my field for this coming winter semester. It's hard and a forest of legalese and way too much paperwork, considering every university has working online applications. Mostly because it's such a decentralized process that every uni has a different standard and trying to figure out if my bachelor's qualifies me for their particular flavours of master's programs... makes me feel like Sisyphus, having to start over with each and every university.

Doesn't help that this winter semester is *literally* when they are changing things to align with an EU edict from... idk 2018, 2019? it's taken forever but of course it's during the year I'm applying OTL

Work is being... work. Not very happy with this sidegig, but I'm trying to take it philosophically. Clearly this is a sign I need to double down with my applications so I can leave in Aug/Sept when my contract runs out. I'm not bad at the job, but there's a full-time employee who cannot for the life of her stand me, couldn't since day one and I don't know what her problem is. Every little inconvenience or what could be construed as a mistake is made into a Big Deal with her (like, oh I don't know, me being only 8 minutes early to work rather than the expected 10. Yeah. This was A Thing)

Dancing

Haven't been dancing much since brother's birthday mostly due to heat/high histamine levels. Finally picked it up again the other day, figuring out a new order. Ponzona by Purple Kiss and Star by Loona are now my most recent attempts at learning new choreos, though I have decided to add Dreamcatcher's Lucky Strike cover today (it's an earworm, I can't get it out of my head!) Probably gonna check on Dami's Beauty Full too now that they've released the MV! See if any dance mirrors are available by now.

Yesss July is gonna be GREAT!!

The uni stuff sounds very annoying, do the universities you're applying to have a ... like an applications officer or something you can speak to who can help demystify the process and talk you through what you need to do? They might also be able to assist you with figuring out whether you qualify for their programs.
If not, I hope you can find the info you need online! Good luck! *crosses fingers*

Much writing! Much to share too, I like having a bit of backlog (though mostly it's due to having to wait for the release dates on the cat codas lmao)

They do have a FAQ and a email contact, but they also specifically state that qualification questions will not be answered due to lack of capacity (I assume *a lot* of people have the same question and it's always an individual response so on some level I /get it/ but rn is also a very confusing time) I think I figured out most of the big stuff by now? But also I'm just gonna send my applications off if I'm uncertain and let them figure it out. wcs I don't qualify and they'll send me a rejection letter *shrugs*

Thank you! It doesn't feel like it from my perspective :') mostly because I'm constantly reminded of the things I still haven't done yet, but this was really encouraging to hear <3
