I love the mosaic colours and religious symbology of it), tarot cards (the levels of choosing a card meaning to fit the character, the pose, the details!), and tapestry (just, the historical vibes? Usually some sort of major event or conflict, depicting a story between characters? *_*)

Music Likes: My taste in songs runs towards rock/metal as well as certain kpop songs - bands like Evenescence, Within Temptation, Krypteria, Beyond the Black; but also Sunrise Avenue, Anastacia, Adele, and Rihanna have great songs. Kpop wise, my faves are Dreamcatcher, Loona, Mamamoo, and LeSserafim's Unforgiven and Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard's Wife. But honestly, anything with lyrics that fit the situation/mood I will love for a fanvid :D

Requested Tags: Chu Shuzhi & Shen Wei, Chu Shuzhi & Zhao Yunlan, Chu Shuzhi/Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan, Shěn Wēi & Professor Zhōu & Lǐ Qiàn & Science (Guardian (TV)) Shěn Wēi/Zhào Yúnlán, Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan & Da Qing, Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan & Dragon University students, Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan/Zhu Hong, Solo: SID Ensemble, Solo: Zhu Hong, WB: Dixing Culture, WB: Dixingren Powers, WB: The Hallows, WB: Ye Olde Haixing Era, Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan & Dragon University students
Fandom-specific DNWs: Shen Wei being naive/unaware of politics, Shen Wei giving up his role as HPS or Professor Shen

WeilanI love how much these two complete and complement each other. They share ideals of how the world should work, what is just, what is right. They understand duty, and they understand each other in that: they will both put their duty to protect the world, the innocent first, even when it kills them. But they're still super protective of each other, scolding each other for being reckless with their own safety (tbf, Shen Wei has a lot more reason to scold ZYL than vice versa, but ZYL gets his own jabs in e.g. the "you're not a weapon" line). They push and cross polite boundaries with each other, but it's okay because their stalking is mutual, it's their love language. The time loop just puts a cherry on top of all this delicious Weilan cake - they each are in love with the other when they first meet, they know them intimately, and it shows in their interactions. And because they're both clever, they notice that discrepancy and are intrigued.

specific Weilan Likes: alternate identity reveal, ZYL helping Shen Wei keep his secret, Us Against The World, Pendant of Pining content, getting together, first kiss, time loop content, mutual protectiveness, mutual possessiveness, hurt/comfort, whump!Shen Wei, whump!ZYL, throwing themselves in the way of danger despite being hurt to protect the other, consequences of the light energy wound, consequences of the Serum injection, Battle Couple, teaching the other to fight with their weapon, working together to solve a problem/case, one getting kidnapped and knowing the other is coming for them, exasperated but fond Shen Wei, reckless Zhao Yunlan, Shen Wei being a troll, Zhao Yunlan being very observant and smart

for smut: kink exploration (especially with bondage & D/s stuff, I like both Dom!Shen Wei as well as Dom!ZYL), porn with feelings, monsterfucker!ZYL, sex pollen, omegaverse (including mpreg or pregnancy kink), first time, emotional intimacy, fucking while pining, enthusiastic consent, alternate Dixing biology

Weilan & Da QingI love Da Qing being part of Weilan's family unit. With these three, I like anything from domestic fluff, slice of life, Da Qing as their cat, Da Qing raised Zhao Yunlan, Da Qing and ZYL’s sibling-esque bond, the complexity and simplicity of their relationship, being protective of each other, Shen Wei and Da Qing coming to an understanding, to Da Qing remembering some of his past with Shen Wei. Lately I’ve been really into Da Qing feeling the need to talk to Shen Wei about what exactly his place in the family is.

SID ensembleMy favourites to focus on are Weilan, Zhu Hong and Chu Shuzhi, I love their sass and competence. Especially Zhu Hong's interactions with Lin Jing, Chu Shuzhi, and Wang Zheng fascinate me - what did they usually do, pre-canon? Do they hang out together when we don't see them on screen? Clearly, they like to tease and prank each other. Generally, I enjoy team as family and team-bonding, casefic, characters being competent, the team working together, the team being protective of each other, team members having a conflict and growing to understand each other better through adversity

What's their perspective on Zhao Yunlan's courtship of Professor Shen? The Heipaoshi reveal? Working as a team and having each other's back, possibly when the regent shows back up to pester Chu Shuzhi or another inspector pokes their nose in? Working with Professor Shen in an official capacity as consultant without Zhao Yunlan hovering?

Weilan &/ Chu ShuzhiI am always, always a sucker for fealty, and Chu Shuzhi's unquestioning loyalty to Heipaoshi ticks all my boxes. I enjoy that Chu Shuzhi is clever in his own right, that he works towards what he thinks Shen Wei's goals are, that he won't hesitate if Shen Wei has a task for him - but that he clearly has strong opinions of his own he may or may not bring up. The tension of finding a worthy lord to serve and his own unworthiness is amazing. Similarly, his respect and disgust for Zhao Yunlan amuse me, because he *does* follow Chief Zhao's lead and respects his professional skills, he just disagrees *vehemently* with his approach and lifestyle and general disasterness.

I would love anything where Shen Wei is injured and forced to rely on Chu Shuzhi, or Zhao Yunlan and Chu Shuzhi are stuck together for ~reasons pre-HPS reveal. (Or maybe where Zhao Yunlan knows/suspects but before Chu Shuzhi has his confirmation.) Or something where Chu Shuzhi thinks he's stuck between loyalties, maybe he even agrees with the task Zhao Yunlan gives him, but perceives it as working against Heipaoshi's goals and thus feels unable to do them? Something related to Professor Shen's undeniable Dixingren status and hiding it maybe? Ideally with Chu Shuzhi coming to the realization that his lord and his boss are on the same page, actually.

For a smutty scenario, I’m very interested in Chu Shuzhi helping Shen Wei to dominate sub!Zhao Yunlan, using his dark energy strings for sexual bondage. I enjoy the idea of CSZ being a switch and kinking on his hero learning and using his power to bind ZYL, helping Shen Wei tie ZYL up with strings, following Shen Wei's orders and without hesitation but at the same time domming ZYL sort of second-in-command dom style? Like he doesn't wait for Shen Wei's orders to punish ZYL when he pushes boundaries or to reprimand him, perhaps he even prepares and offers a tied up ZYL to Shen Wei as a gift from his loyal servant?

Shen Wei/Zhao Yunlan/Zhu HongI very much liked how canon handled Zhu Hong's one-sided crush on Zhao Yunlan. He was gentle and self-effacing, trying to buffer her feelings, especially her self-worth, despite the inevitable rejection. He clearly knew about her crush, but also tried to put her off, a hint she noticed but couldn't quite kill her hope that maybe some day they could be together. I find the personality switch episode especially enlightening re: Zhu Hong's character here because she starts chasing Zhao Yunlan actively, using cutesy names and acting like a cutesy female lead stereotype. It shows that Zhu Hong usually /isn't/ that. Despite her crush she's feisty, proud and hides her feelings.

Her rivalry yet understanding with Shen Wei is imo under explored, their conversation about love in the park, while primarily serving to highlight both their romantic feelings towards Zhao Yunlan, drew interesting parallels between their characters. In a lot of ways Shen Wei is the sort of gentleman Zhu Hong is supposed to fall in love with, but at his core he is similar to Zhao Yunlan, especially re: justice and duty and responsibility, once the outer layers of bad boy vs polite professor genteel are peeled away. And vice versa, I think Shen Wei would find several of Zhao Yunlan's more brash and reckless traits reflected in Zhu Hong.

Ideally, I would want this ship to develop with established Weilan and Zhu Hong hopelessly pining from the outside, until circumstances force them to re-evaluate. Whether Zhu Hong has to marry either Shen Wei or Zhao Yunlan for political reasons and thus destroy their HEA, or one (or both!) of them need to have sex with her due to extenuating circumstances, I would love for Zhu Hong to go through some homewrecker angst and feeling like an intruder in the relationship (until they grow to a point where she becomes a proper part of the threeway relationship).

For a fluffier take, I would also love the fake dating/married trope undercover during a case, where for some reason or another one of Weilan can't participate in the trickery (whether the target knows them or they have a different part to play...) Bonus points for an outsider to catch Weilan making out at some point and assuming they're cheating on poor Zhu Hong 👌 ideally the fake dating would lead to a realization that there's relationship potential between the three of them, with a promise to explore that in the future.

Zhu Hong & SIDWithin the SID, Zhu Hong takes on a big sister role, bossing people around and keeping Lin Hong on task. Simultaneously, she clearly enjoys pranking Lin Jing and has casual banter with all members. I find her dynamic with each of them fascinating, but in particular how she interacts with Lin Jing and Xiao Guo (outside of Weilan, who are always faves). There's definitely a sibling undercurrent in how she teases Lin Jing, while with Xiao Guo it's more a mix of bossy older sister and an assumed master/apprentice role (an interesting contrast to the mentor role Chu Shuzhi takes on).

I'm also fascinated by how Zhu Hong insists in episode 3 that she's a secretary, not a field agent, yet we see her display pretty damn good martial arts at least twice on screen (e.g. when she's mind controlled). Seeing as she's more than happy to play bait in episode 4, it's not because she's afraid of danger. I love stories that explore Zhu Hong taking a more active role during cases.

Prompts
  • Battle Couple Weilan fighting together and intercepting shots/hits meant for the other, ideally ends with both of them injured and taking care of each other, either victorious or managing a temporary retreat. Could be set in YOHE, during Dixing's invasion or in a post-canon scenario!
  • Pre-identity reveal (or pre-episode 20 where ZYL knows but SID doesn't), Shen Wei gets injured and has to rely on CSZ and/or CSZ and ZYL get stuck and have to work together to free themselves
  • CSZ getting confirmation Shen Wei is a Dixingren pre-HPS-reveal and feeling very conflicted about it
  • Zhu Hong dealing with her unrequited crush by focussing on work, training to kick ass (and totally not to impress Zhao Yunlan), bonding with other SID members as she bullies them into chasing some lead or another
  • Zhu Hong being forced to crash the Weilan relationship by outside forces (e.g. sex pollen via Yashou concoction or Dixingren power, some sort of curse, a Treaty subclause) aimed at either Shen Wei or ZYL, through much angst and Zhu Hong internally struggling with knowing she's the intruder and not a beloved partner, finding some triad arrangement which eventually turns into genuine three-way love
  • Casefic in which the SID comes together to protect one of their own (e.g. keeping an injured Professor Shen from being handed over to Haixing Labs, hiding CSZ from the Regent, standing up for Zhao Yunlan to another Haixing inspector a la episode 16/17, etc.) Would love if Lin Jing's and Chu Shuzhi's potential conflict in loyalties is adressed :D!

Art Prompts:
  • Battle Couple Weilan
  • floating void cat Da Qing
  • Zhu Hong in that red dress (or similar flashy outfits! I would love her in an evening gown)
  • formal wear!Weilan – maybe ZYL with his fly untied?
  • Flower crowns! Flower crowns for everybody!

Fandom-specific DNWs: any mention of the late spy plot, let's pretend it never happened

Duan Tianying/Luo FushengI enjoy Luo Fusheng and Duan Tianying’s developing relationship, how they grow from the early misunderstandings and mistakes into each other’s greatest support. Having to work through the early mistakes and assumptions they made leads to a sturdier basis for their subsequent romantic relationship, imo. Tianying starts with understandable misgivings about Luo Fusheng and his job as a mafia enforcer, she takes him at the mask he presents to the world and has to learn how to peel those layers back. Luo Fusheng, meanwhile, is someone who will put everyone he cares about before himself, he will give everything he has and more to make the people in his life happy, but hides this behind a cavalier mask. Tianying is good for him, imo, because she sees beyond his pretense and can take care of the injured soul behind the mask, and Luo Fusheng can support her loyally and unequivocally without ever worrying about her letting him fall (unlike everyone else in his life :/) I love that her voice can bring him enough peace to fall asleep without nightmares, and that he's always willing to protect her.

And let's not kid ourselves, Luo Fusheng is a service sub and Duan Tianying would rise perfectly to the occasion of being his kind mistress.

Luo Fusheng/Xu XingchengI’m a fan of the headcanon that Xu Xingcheng is Luo Fusheng’s ex-boyfriend pre-France and how that impacts the love triangle. Their romance is a tragedy because Luo Fusheng loves him ot the bones and Xu Xingcheng takes him for granted. Especially his obliviousness to Luo Fusheng’s unquestioning loyalty to him and the tragedy of his accusations that LFS betrays him when the opposite is true: XXC always puts himself first, and LFS does everything in his power to put his loved ones first. I like how selfish and spoilt XXC is as an antagonist – though if you go the redemption arc route, I would love for him to grow up and realize how he is the one that did LFS dirty.

Duan Tianying/Luo Fusheng/Xu XingchengThere's a moment where Tianying and Xu Xingcheng are dating and Luo Fusheng has resigned himself to not have either of them, in which I could see a canon divergence taking them into throuple territory. It would take something to knock sense into Xu Xingcheng - because I do believe he cares about Luo Fusheng, he's just never learned to take another's feelings into consideration before. One way I could see this happening is if Tianying and XXC become aware of Luo Fusheng's sadness and loneliness, possibly by barging in on him drinking himself to a stupor because he cannot sleep. Tianying needs to see there's more depth behind the easy banter, and XXC needs a reminder that just because he's got his happiness, it came at a grave cost to others, and that maybe he should care about that.

Duan Tianying & Hong LanI like the rivalry between Hong Lan and Tianying. I would love for them to develop a friendship from there, or at least an appreciation and understanding. I like how condescending Hong Lan is, how much she abuses her power over Tianying, especially when she’s later forced to acknowledge Tianying after the Lin Ruomeng reveal as an equal. I would love something that focusses on Hong Lan’s character growth in this area, growing out of her selfish love for LFS and recognizing that LFS deserves happiness, even if it isn’t with her.
Similarly, I would love any fic that focusses on Hong Lan growing into and taking responsibility as the head of the Hong family after her father’s death, and how that affects her relationship to Tianying/Luo Fusheng. E.g. taking LFS back in as second-in-command and giving her blessing for him to marry Lin Ruomeng – what would lead her to something like that?

Prompts
  • I love how Luo Fusheng/Tianying's relationship is one of mutual care and respect and protectiveness, especially in contrast to their relationship with other characters (especially for LFS, who is always there for everyone else in his life, but none of them are there for him, especially Lin Qikai and Xu Xingcheng)
  • How do Luo Fusheng and Tianying square their respective morals with LFS's job as top enforcer of the Hong family? Tianying scolds him several times in canon, but I would love to see how she can keep her morality and yet learn to accept why LFS is loyal to his mob family, how he does his best to keep his people safe and protect the weak. Possibly with Tianying realizing that the world is more than black and white along the way.
  • Xu Xingcheng growing up and realizing he's the one who fucked up his and Luo Fusheng's relationship
  • Hong Lan & Tianying's hate-rivalvry slowly turning into a friendship
  • Hong Lan growing into her Head of the Hong family responsibilities
  • Tianying kicking martial ass/Battle Couple with Luo Fusheng. Maybe some rival mafia decided Luo Fusheng's girlfriend would be an easy hostage to force his hand, but she ends up rescuing herself/LFS only shows up as she's already kicking ass.

Requested Tags: Nick Burkhardt & Monroe, Nick Burkhardt/Juliette Silverton, Nick Burkhardt/Sean Renard, Nick Burkhardt/Sean Renard/Juliette Silverton, Sean Renard/Juliette Silverton, Solo: Juliette Silverton, Solo: Sean Renard, WB: Hexenbiest/Zauberbiest psychology, WB: Hexenbiests/Zauberbiests and their role in Wesen society, WB: History of Grimms & Royals, WB: Wesen & Grimm & Royals Politics,
Fandom-specific DNWs: re zombies/undead: please keep descriptions of the Hexen-/Zauberbiest Woge non-graphic

Nick BurkhardtI really like how Nick is a Good Guy with Morals, someone who takes the oath of protecting the innocent seriously and believes in the judicial process and justice of the system—and I love how all of it gets challenged by the existence of Wesen and how they can't always be prosecuted like normal criminals. Nick's development is fascinating as he tries to balance his morals against these new limitations, as he tries to be different than his ancestors. Sometimes he still slips up, lets himself be guided by assumptions and prejudice. He has the potential to go dark, especially when he stops thinking, when he's hurting, when it's personal. It's his connections, his friends who pull him back from that brink. Nick handles himself best when he's part of a team, yet he tends towards trying to lone wolf it again and again.

A tendency Juliette could really help with, if only he told her earlier. What does it take for Nick to tell Juliette? Monroe constantly reinforces the secret-keeping and his Aunt suggested he should break up with her, which he clearly doesn't want. But Juliette is right to reject him for said secret-keeping too when he proposes marriage. When he finally tells her, he's an emotional, incoherent mess, panicking because he knows Adalind did something, and tells her in the worst way possible—and then learns the wrong lesson from it and decides to keep it from her /again/.

Other then that, I live for the times a new Wesen realizes Nick is a Grimm, both when Nick leans into the intimidation factor to find out important clues or when Nick reassures the Wesen that he's Not Like That. The Eisbiber clan and their acceptance of Nick as an ally was one of the highlights of the early seasons for me.

Juliette SilvertonJuliette is my blorbo! I love how she gets dragged into the Wesen world and how she tries to figure things out despite Nick doing his best to keep her in the dark. Her analysis of Big Foot's hair was the perfect moment for him to come clean, and yet. Juliette is suspicious and scientific and empathic, and I love the few moments she works with Nick (e.g. during the Seltenvogel case). They make for a great team when they're on the same page, and it's a shame the show didn't explore that more. I'm convinced that if Nick told her earlier, during one of those moments were Juliette's suspicions were high and she was already thinking along the lines of the unnatural, the reveal would have gone over more smoothly than as Nick was panicking and being extra weird about a simple cat scratch.

Her interactions with their Wesen neighbours while she's not in the know are hilarious, and I love how she immediately starts investigating when Nick doesn't provide satisfying answers. The dynamics of the Wesen interacting with Juliette, the girlfriend of the infamous Grimm, when she’s not in the know but *they* don’t know that are frankly hilarious to me.

I'm highly curious about how Juliette handles her transformation into a Hexenbiest, how she learns control and how she navigates the complicated politics of the Wesen world. There's a lot of worldbuilding opportunities there, in how Hexenbiests are feared by other Wesen. I would love a canon divergence that explores how the Wesen neighbourhood reacts to her new power and how Juliette deals with this shift in perception - she's already gone through the "everyone fears Nick for some weird reason" phase, but now it's directed at her? And Outsider PoV on a Grimm dating/engaged to a Hexenbiest would also be fascinating!

Alternatively, what if Juliette had transformed into a different Wesen? Or if she'd been a natural Hexenbiest who had her power suppressed?

Sean RenardRenard is a /fascinating/ character. We're introduced to him as an antagonist, and he never quite shakes off that label. He works to protect Nick, but keeps him in the dark about a lot of stuff. He wants, needs Nick's support, but with his upbringing he doesn't trust enough to just ask. He actively works against Nick's interests, too, ordering Aunt Marie killed and having Adalind seduce Hank.

Having grown up an unwanted Royal bastard, but also not a full Zauberbiest must have been difficult for Sean. He had to learn at a young age to control himself, and that restraint is so absolute he even manages to resist the compulsion towards Juliette. The loss of control in that arc was something that clearly worried him and he fought against as well as he could. Renard doesn't trust easy (does he even trust anyone, truly?), another interesting side effect of his upbringing and place in the world. Even when he takes lovers he's always ready for them to betray him.

How does his reign as Prince work? I'd love to see him juggling handling traitors, strongarming Wesen into his service or into owing him favours, calling in favours, working against his brother's schemes, keeping Portland seperate and independant from the Royalty over in Europe. Especially interested in how a Grimm figures into his plans! Or an unexpectedly powerful Hexenbiest ;)

Nick/Sean/Juliette and their sub-shipsAll of their dynamics are sooo good!

Nick and Juliette have a really solid relationship at the start of the show. Every moment of domesticity is a great moment - I love their banter, and how Juliette knows when she needs to push Nick, and that Nick tells her details like that a case is getting to him. Juliette is the most supportive girlfriend ever, and when she's doing research is some of the best moments. Like when she offers to look into Nick's parents' deaths for him, because Nick is too busy/emotionally compromised to do it himself. But she's also clever and curious in her own right, see how she takes the Big Foot's hair into the lab. Really, if Nick had told her then, things might've gone very different. She's not a push-over either, calling Nick out on his secret-keeping during his proposal and when she's amnesiac and Nick *still* isn't telling her the truth about Wesen. She knows her worth.

Juliette and Renard have incredible chemistry on screen. The entire obsession arc was such a highlight for me, the way they fought the compulsion and desire. I like to think that the attraction lingers after the curse is broken, too. And the fact that Juliette seeks Renard out for help when she's turned into a Hexenbiest is *chefs kiss*. I mean, she calls him Sean! This is so important to me, y'all *heart eyes*

Nick and Renard then have this interesting tension. Renard protects Nick as best as he can when he's still fumbling in the dark of this new world, trying to take care of Reapers and the like using police resources, but not warning him. At the same time, Renard is the one who put a hit out on Aunt Marie and who ordered Adalind to seduce Hank to get to Nick. They don't trust each other, not exactly, but they work great together regardless. Renard goes through a Whole Process to purify himself so he can wake up Juliette, just because he wants to keep Nick on his side, but he doesn't tell him until he's forced to. The confrontation at the cabin was amazing and summarizes a lot of this tension. I'd love to see them at this point where neither is quite sure what the other will do or having overcome this phase and having found a common ground they agree on, some sort of understanding between them.

The three of them create a fascinating triangle with those facets. It could work out well with Renard more willing to tell Juliette the answers she seeks and a calming, restraining presence on Nick's worse impulses (as long as Nick allows this). Adding Renard would smooth the issues of the Nick/Juliette relationship out to a point where they could communicate better; while what's keeping Juliette/Renard apart is the monogamy commitment between Nick/Juliette in early seasons (and a lot of preoccupation with the relevant plot in later seasons). For Nick/Renard to work, Nick needs to decide to trust Renard, and Renard needs to be able to trust Nick to be more vulnerable and honest with him - this is true regardless of Juliette's involvement, but I think Juliette would ease that tension for them.

Hank GriffinI enjoy his easy banter with Nick, the pun competition he seems to have with Nick and Wu, how curious he is about Wesen once inducted into the supernatural world. But even before then, he often reaches the same conclusions Nick does based on detailed observations of the scenes and behaviour of the people involved. They complement each other nicely as cop partners.

Hank also works great with Monroe, especially as the newest recruit who asks questions of the expert, which is always a great vehicle for more Wesen worldbuilding.

MonroeI enjoy Monroe's quirks, his nerdery for obscure historical facts (including about Wesen! He's a walking encyclopedia), his sheer excitement for Grimm paraphernalia, and how he rambles on in awkward situations, saying even the things better left unsaid. I love how terrible he is at undercover work in Wesen establishments, the opposite of subtle and always, always getting in trouble with the perp one way or another. He's a worrywart and stalwartly loyal to those he considers his, and he won't ever let Nick run into danger on his own. Plus he's great at calling Nick out on his bullshit (even if he lets it slide way too often and abides by Nick's decisions). He's a good friend.

Generally I'm in love with the worldbuilding of the Wesen neighbourhood that lives near Nick. It starts with the Eisbieber clan, but do more Wesen have their own Neighbourhood Watch? Do they watch the Grimm to make sure he doesn't stray or do they watch out for his girlfriend to keep her safe in turn?

Prompts
  • Juliette finding out about the Wesen world during the Seltenvogel case: I love how invested she was and how well she worked together with Nick to protect the Seltenvogel, even without being in the know. What if she followed him earlier? What if the Seltenvogel gave too much away for Nick to brush off? What if she saw something she shouldn't have and Nick is forced to tell her?
  • Canon AU in which Nick and Renard have/had a fling pre-canon, before Renard becomes Nick's boss. I would love for some Unresolved Emotional Tension between Renard's emotional unavailability due to trust issues and Nick trying to 'forget' about his crush, mutual pining, "it was just sex" but actually there were feelings involved denial. Maybe they agreed to end it when Renard was promoted to captain?
  • Any and all getting together romances, especially for Nick/Sean/Juliette as a triad after having had relations between the three in pairs. Working through their issues and learning to communicate and trust and working together as a power triad of Prince, Grimm and artificial Hexenbiest.
  • Casefic! I love when Nick works with Hank/Monroe/Juliette/all of the above to solve a Wesen case. I'm especially fascinated by the misunderstood predator Wesen types where everyone assumes they're the perp, when it's a supposedly harmless prey Wesen using them as a scapegoat
  • I would love a thousand snippets of slice of life style weird run-ins at the grocer, at Juliette’s veterinary clinic, beaver boys being boy scouts selling cookies, Wesen Neighbourhood Watch (are they watching the Grimm to make sure he doesn't kill anyone or to protect him an his family?), more prey Wesen moving into Nick's neighbourhood once word gets around that he's a protector, not a hunter, etc.
  • Wesen politics and how the characters fit into it, especially Renard as Prince of Portland but also a bastard and Zauberbiest, Nick as the friendly Grimm not working for a Royal exactly (or is he?), the Blutbaden working for a Grimm, the Kehrseite-Schlich-Kennen (Hank) who is so involved with a world he can't see or know, Juliette as either the Grimm's Kehrseite girlfriend or the artificial and overpowered Hexenbiest, etc.
  • Marriage proposal or wedding, especially for Nick/Juliette or Nick/Sean/Juliette! How does it work? Is it a poly marriage? Or is Renard happy to officiate the wedding without being a married partner because bureaucracy?
  • For OT3 in particular: I love plots where an Outsider mistakes a happy poly situation for cheating (catching Sean/Juliette or Nick/Renard at it) and then struggles with the dilemma of how to tell the third party about it :3
  • Casefic where Renard's hand is forced and Nick gets suspended (possibly for being suspected as the murderer in a vigilante style case?) and no one is happy about it and everyone works together to clear his name and save the day

the one in which Yoohyeon kills Jiu second timeline in Dreamcatcher's MV "Deja Vu"

Prompts
  • An exploration of the first timeline and the Deja Vu rewind - why does Jiu raise her sword in the first and drop it in the second? Does Yoohyeon remember? Why does she stab the fleeing Jiu? What went wrong between these two for Jiu to turn on Yoohyeon in the first timeline (and does Yoohyeon remember in the second)?
  • Jiu and Yoohyeon swap roles between the two timelines. In the first, Yoohyeon starts out as the princess in the pretty dress and is betrayed by Jiu in dark clothing - in the second, this is reversed and Yoohyeon takes the throne by force. What are they to each other? Is the second role, the one in dark clothes, a bodyguard? A spymaster, assassin? Some sort of advisor or confidante? Jiu is the first to raise her sword to a kneeling Yoohyeon in both versions - why?
  • What if there's more time rewinds after the second? What does it take to break the time loop? Can Yoohyeon and Jiu reconcile? Do they both remember or is it only Yoohyeon?
  • Post-canon melancholy: Yoohyeon sits on the throne, alone, all of her friends dead/vanished. Was it worth it? Does she remember better times? Does she try to find a way to fix it? (How often does she visit Jiu's grave of roses?)
  • What if the first timeline isn't real? What if it's simply Yoohyeon's paranoia causing her to misread the signs and lash out? What if someone is manipulating her, sending her visions/dreams, stoking her distrust? What if she finds out all of Jiu's secrecy and whispers behind her back was actually because she intended to propose to Yoohyeon, but now she's dead at Yoohyeon's hand?

Fanvid Prompt: if you feel like it, footage from Deja Vu underlined with a snippet from Dreamcatcher's song Propose would be incredible. (Feel free to nab some Yoohyeon and/or Jiu scenes from Scream as well, it as a similar aesthetic in outfits!

Specific Art Prompts
  • Yoohyeon or Jiu on the throne is always a great visual, especially if the other is sitting/kneeling at her feet, or standing protectively behind her
  • Sword sword sword! The betrayal scene is so incredibly evocative, anything inspired by it is great
  • I enjoy the colour/saturation contrast between pastel princess and black betrayer, there’s something soft to the royal one and something sharp to her servant who ends up stabbing her in the back
  • Anything that plays off the stunning visuals of the MV: fancy clothes! fancy dinner parties! fancy funerals!

Prompts
  • Who are the characters, what's their role in this post-apocalyptic dystopian landscape? What happened? The song is a call to arms, to fight... but what? Thematically, the song continues Maison's warning about climate change and evil corporations, with Sua taking out The Devil/head of corporations in the end. What happened in the aftermath? Who grasped power in the vacuum left by those corporations? How long after Maison is Vision taking place?
  • Is Dami an antagonist? Or is she on the side of the group? She launches that energy shield to cover the Earth, but is that a good thing or a bad thing? In the Maison behind the scenes, Dami speculated about her character being a double agent - which side does she fall on, in the end? Is she betraying the group or the evil corporations?
  • Yoohyeon and Sua seem to be removed in some way - they seem to me as if they represent supernatural forces/are goddesses of some kind. We see Sua in the pink clouds to start with, and then she "comes down to earth" in her next scene. Yoohyeon is visually distinct from the rest of the group, the only one in blue and with very different style of clothing, and she's the one to call down thunder, possibly giving everyone else their lightning powers.
  • On that note, the ones fighting (in what to me looks like some sort of reator core?) are Yoohyeon, Jiu, Siyeon, Gahyeon, and Sua; but not Handong nor Dami. Possibly because they are fighting Dami, if she's the villain.
  • In light of the sequel Bon Voyage in which Sua escapes from a Facility TM (with notably Siyeon's help) I can't stop thinking of them going into the reactor in Vision to purify the contaminated goddesses. Especially since Sua is presented with a black crown on red clouds, and there's a lot of green poisonous fog all around, she always struck me as an avatar of Pestilence. An exploration of their fight to get inside the facilities and the process of purification would be A++

Art Prompts
  • I'm fascinated by the dark colour scheme of the video contrasted with the bright red of the sky, the toxic green of the fog and the bright flashes of colour of the lightning the characters use
  • Iterations on the MV customs very welcome! I love this dystopian post-apocalyptic style and would love to see your take on it!

Dimension 20 - Calorum

Requested Tags: WB: Candian Politics, WB: the Bulbian Church's Doctrines, WB: Candy Animals' Biology, Saccharina Frostwhip & Rocks Family, Saccharina Frostwhip & Jet Rocks & Ruby Rocks, Saccharina Frostwhip & Caramelinda Rocks, Saccharina Frostwhip & Amethar Rocks, Lapin Cadbury & Jet Rocks & Ruby Rocks, Theobald Gumbar & Jet Rocks & Ruby Rocks, Amethar Rocks & Caramelinda Rocks/Lazuli Rocks

SaccharinaSaccharina's backstory is a tragedy, and her introduction to the Rocks Family even more tragic: she shows up in time to be their solution, to replace their heir - and with their grief over Jet's recent death, it's the worst possible time. Saccharina of course has no agency over this fact, and in rubbing her blood family wrong, she loses the last hope she has to build proper bonds with them. I find the final decision she and Ruby had to make, whether or not to kill each other, incredibly satisfying in how close a shave it was. Things went nearly catastrophically wrong, but in the end, Saccharina has a chance to prove herself and build those bonds over time after all.

Jet & RubyThe twins are a fascinating character study of irresponsibility, growing up in comfort and freedom. They enter the political sphere of Calorum naive and unprepared and have to grow up fast when their dad is nearly killed. It's interesting how there's never any jealousy between them about Jet being the heir, but once Jet dies, Ruby has trouble accepting Saccharina in her place. Ruby's feelings on Saccharina are imo guided by how Saccharina is a mirror of both twins: the heir, the responsible one, the leader - but also the sorceress, with a skillset very similar to Ruby's.

I'd like to think that Jet would've reacted differently, if still feeling an initial thrust of rejection because of how similar Saccharina is to Ruby on the surface. But Jet doesn't want to be the heir, necessarily, she just has no choice. So when Saccharina comes along, there's suddenly another option. It would be fascinating to work out how Jet handles this - does competition for the crown suddenly make her want it? Or does relief that this might save their people overwhelm her? Jet also has a slightly different relationship to Amethar, so how does she feel about there being a love child? She wouldn't doubt his love for her, I don't think, but Jet puts a lot of weight on Amethar's feelings.

Amethar & CaramelindaI love the twisted web that is the relationships within this royal family. Amethar, the spare who was never meant to rule, ends up king in the aftermath of the tragedy of his sisters' death and is very uncomfortable in that role, only coming to life when it's back on the battlefield for him. Amethar, who married the love of his life and then never managed to find her again, forced into a political marriage with his sister's wife. Like, speaking of awkward.

Caramelinda was in love with Lazuli, but forced to marry Amethar after the war, and then forced to take on the reins of the kingdom by herself in the face of his incompetence. But at the same time, there are hints that while Lazuli loved her just as deeply, she was constantly distracted by the time stream she had access to, juggling multiple hot potatoes at once, regardless if past, present, or future. What is it like, to be in a relationship with someone like that, whose projects take priority?

WB: the Bulbian Church's DoctrineI absolutely adore puns and wordplay and the fact that the Ramsian Doctrine was based on Gordon Ramsey's real-ass take on "trash food"? Fucking killed me. I deeply enjoy the way Brennan mixed the history of the Catholic church and its hierarchy with food facts - and I would absolutely love more of the same. Correspondence between two rival factions, arguing about the finer points of one interpretation over the other, the difference between what the people are told vs what it says in the food-bible, or maybe what a sermon looks like - everything goes, go hogwild :D!

WB: Candian PoliticsI would love anything that explores the web of Candia's internal politics. We know House Rocks rules the kingdom of Candia, and from Amethar's titles we know there's the Sugarlands, something called Gumdrop Pass, and a Frosting Valley. Amethar's also the Duke of Cookieshire and the Duke of Flanwood - how did this come about, historically? Why is his father, King Jadain, only the Duke of Cookieshire but not of Flanwood? His mother is a fruit, so it can't come from her? Similarly, Jet is the Duchess of Gumberly and Ruby is the Duchess of Piehole. Meanwhile, Caramelinda is the Duchess of Meringue, and then there's Westcake (West Cake?) according to Rococoa's and Sapphria's titles. How do these all fit together on a map? What do these locations look like?

WB: Candy Animals' BiologyHonestly, just make up candy-based animals for me, and I'll be happy :D what are the equivalent of sheeps (are they made of spun sugar? do Candians shear the sugar for sugarwool!?), chickens (what do they lay?) - are bears literally made of honey? There's such a breadth to explore! (Though do please remember that Brennan clarified that eating them wouldn't be cannibalism anymore than a human eating a beef steak, and that not everything is edible just because it's made out of candy. If it's treated as wood or stone, then it's a resource, not food!)

Prompts
  • What if Ruby died instead of Jet? How would things have played out, how would she have reacted to Saccharina—especially with how similar her skills are to dead Ruby’s?
  • What if a young Saccharina made her way to Castle Candy before the Concordant Emperor died? How would the family react before all the strife, how would her life change? How would Calroy react to meeting the bastard heir and the supposed illegimacy of Amethar's marriage?
  • What if Lapin survived? How would his revelation about religion affect the fight for the crown? How would he react to Saccharina, or the fight with the Sugarplum Fairy?
  • What if one of Amethar's sisters survived? Which one? As Amethar is the youngest, would that sister then marry Caramelinda? How do they have heirs? How would the story change?

Art Prompts
  • Daily life of the Royal Family: the disaster of etiquette lessons, twin shenanigans, Theo and Lapin chasing after the two, Caramelinda hosting a ball, the twins creating circus pamphlets for Ruby
  • kid!Saccharina, especially in a What If where she comes to live with the Rocks Family (or a deaging plot!). A family portrait being painted and the tense family dynamics it depicts, what with Caramelinda giving Amethar a cold shoulder for Saccharina's presence.
