Early January Resolutions

Personal

It looks like I might get my internet fixed soon! The technician hasn’t been here yet, but the internet provider sent out e-mails with new links to re-activate the contracted payment account (we didn’t have to pay during the lack of service). I’m taking that as a sign it’ll happen this week.

Writing

I should probably start making a priority list of some kind, with all the things I’m signing up for and planning to write x’) So here’s my January/February list with deadlines:

1. Fandomtrees Gift #1 done
2. Fandomtrees Gift #2 (almost done) – Jan 11
3. a League of Legends fic for a 3rd tree gift (unlikely) Jan 11
4. Weilan time-travel fix-it for Bingo Square “Promise” – Jan 31
5. Shen Wei’s alpha/omega biology lecture for Bonus Prompt “Keep On Going” – Jan 31
6. Guardian Vampire Sequel for Bonus Prompt “Supernatural Elements” – Jan 31
7. Candy Hearts Ex assignment – Feb 7
8. Red Pockets claim: Weilan can’t dance – open ended, vaguely end of Feb
9. Unrevealed Secret Red Pocket – open ended, vaguely end of Feb

I also wanted to look into the possibility of writing treats for candyheartsex… I’ll have to wait and see how January goes though. At this point, I’ve definitely overcommitted. However, I was aware that I’m unlikely to finish both the time-travel andthe vampire sequel simultanousely, since both are relatively long fics. Still considering whether I want to post them as unfinished WIPs or not…

Belated Yuletide Post

I haven’t been able to read many of the yuletide fics sadly, hence why I haven’t made a rec post yet… I read everything in the Time Engraver, Guardian novel, and Princess On Top fandoms and whole-hearted recommend you check them out, too!

Including the beautiful story I received from plingo_kat: sharing moonlight, a beautiful Weilan & Da Qing & Zhao family fic. Seriously, the family dynamics are so incredibly inticrate and very Chinese. I couldn’t have asked for a better gift!

“Are you sure your mother wouldn’t like flowers?” Shen Wei resettles his innocuous professor glasses over the bridge of his nose, inkbrush eyebrows furrowed.

I also wrote a little story, a worldbuildy Time Engraver fic featuring the female character from the second ad: Inevitable. Please check it out, if you have time :)

Sunny has spent many years evading him, but Time was always going to catch up to her.

Work

I really like my new client! I just hope she gets her shit together before the trial period is over because right now the team isn’t inclined to keep her… I have a good feeling about her, though, and aside from personal sympathies I genuinely believe that she’s gonna make it work. She’s just… lacking the motivation/goal right now and maybe not taking the trial as serious as she should (she’s kinda taking it for granted that we’ll keep her on, which is… not a good basis for her. She’s supposed to use these two weeks to convince us of her potential in cooperation etc. :/

The new pregnant lady keeps being difficult to a ridiculous extent, it’s almost funny if it weren’t so much unnecessary extra work. The baby could come any day now and that’s gonna make night shifts much harder. Here’s hoping that our employer actually hires a night nurse soon (I’m not sure if they’re even looking sadly).

And wow, yeah, that's an ambitious writing list. Good luck with it all! If I get my writing brain to finally cooperate, maybe I can write some Guardian stuff again too ... (So far this year I've failed miserably at everything I've tried. Sometimes I think I'm the only one who finds writing Guardian fic hard. *g*)

Also, sounds like work is interesting, that's always good!

Yeah it's probably a bit too ambitious x') but hey, aim high and I might yet achieve like, half of those goals!
