Guardian Bingo 2k22 – Going For Blackout!

miss_ingnoI have, so far, written 26 fanfics this year for the Guardian Bingo event.
It’s been an interesting experience. I’ve fitted some of my WIPs to the prompts, trying to match as many as possible. But on the other hand, I came up with a lot of new ones, too – especially for the bonus fills, those were all new, improvised on the spot ideas. Which really, in a way was the most fun. I used the prompts at motivators and a deadline to get several of my existing WIPs finished, but I don’t feel that was always in the spirit of the event. I also used Guardian fics I wrote for other events in a double up for some prompts, as long as they fit and it was allowed, just to get as many as my .
Oh well. I did end up with a lot of new ideas written out faster than I might’ve otherwise, too. My Alternate First Meeting (Can’t Just Wait With Lives At Stake) was one of these, and I still like the premise A Lot. Granted, I also put most of my longer fics on the backburner since one-shots were easier to post and fill squares with, giving me the much needed dopamine rush of sucessfully finishing a thing, but it also allowed me to play with some ideas I had tumbling around in my head that I probably wouldn't have otherwise (like all the Zhu Hong-centric fics!)

All in all, I’ve written a lot of words for and with the Guardian Bingo this year, and it pushed me to wrap up all of them. Honestly, I’m happy with that as an achievement! And it was definitely partially due to the push of getting all of the prompts filled :D

on 2022-12-28 09:10 pm (UTC)I was originally going to try the bingo as well, but then writing just basically didn't happen for me last year. Here's hoping in 2023 I'll be half as prolific as you were in 2022!

on 2022-12-30 08:24 am (UTC)The bingo is continuing into 2k23 to offer people a chance to get more badges, if you wanted to try! (No pressure obviously, it's supposed to be low effort in the first place. I just get competitive/ambitious when I see a goal within reach 😂)
