Hi! Thank you for writing for me :) I hope this letter helps. All prompts are simply suggestions, if you are inspired to take it in a different direction, feel free to go wild <3 Treats welcome!

The DNWs are not the same across fandoms (e.g. Deja Vu has the least because I love the darker themes of that canon, whereas I would prefer gifts from other canons to be lighter), and the nsfw ones are only on the ones where I've requested smut.

If you have questions or need clarification, you should be able to ask via the mods, I'll try to reply as promptly as possible :)

General Likes

• exploration of group dynamics and/or relationships (familial, platonic, romantic, or antagonistic). I like seeing characters interact, with such tropes as e.g. team as family, found family, and fealty. But also emotional hurt/comfort with (non-contrived) misunderstandings is great!
• In the same vein, I love seeing characters using the systems they are in to their advantage, by e.g. using the right level of familiarity, matters of etiquette and politeness, trading of favours and calling in of debts, etc. to achieve their goal. Knowing the rules and when they can break them without repercussion :D! and especially if they do so in service of someone they love/are loyal to.
• Similarly, characters doing everything they can in the name of protecting those that are dear to them, including misleading their loved ones about their goals and self-sacrifice (though please no perma-death!)

Weilan & Da Qing

I love Da Qing being part of Weilan's family unit. With these three, I like anything from domestic fluff, slice of life, Da Qing is their cat, Da Qing raised Zhao Yunlan, Da Qing and ZYL’s sibling-esque bond, the complexity and simplicity of their relationship, being protective of each other, Shen Wei and Da Qing coming to an understanding, to Da Qing remembering some of his past with Shen Wei. Lately I’ve been really into Da Qing feeling the need to talk to Shen Wei about what exactly his place in the family is.

SID ensemble

My favourites to focus on are Weilan, Zhu Hong and Chu Shuzhi, I love their sass and competence. Especially Zhu Hong's interactions with Lin Jing, Chu Shuzhi, and Wang Zheng fascinate me - what did they usually do, pre-canon? Do they hang out together when we don't see them on screen? Clearly, they like to tease and prank each other. Generally, I enjoy team as family and team-bonding, casefic, characters being competent, the team working together, the team being protective of each other, team members having a conflict and growing to understand each other better through adversity

What's their perspective on Zhao Yunlan's courtship of Professor Shen? The Heipaoshi reveal? Working as a team and having each other's back, possibly when the regent shows back up to pester Chu Shuzhi or another inspector pokes their nose in? Working with Professor Shen in an official capacity as consultant without Zhao Yunlan hovering?

Chu Shuzhi

I am always, always a sucker for fealty, and Chu Shuzhi's unquestioning loyalty to Heipaoshi ticks all my boxes. I enjoy that Chu Shuzhi is clever in his own right, that he works towards what he thinks Shen Wei's goals are, that he won't hesitate if Shen Wei has a task for him - but that he clearly has strong opinions of his own he may or may not bring up. The tension of finding a worthy lord to serve and his own unworthiness is amazing. Similarly, his respect and disgust for Zhao Yunlan amuse me, because he *does* follow Chief Zhao's lead and respects his professional skills, he just disagrees *vehemently* with his approach and lifestyle and general disasterness.

I would love anything where Shen Wei is injured and forced to rely on Chu Shuzhi, or Zhao Yunlan and Chu Shuzhi are stuck together for ~reasons pre-HPS reveal. (Or maybe where Zhao Yunlan knows/suspects but before Chu Shuzhi has his confirmation.) Or something where Chu Shuzhi thinks he's stuck between loyalties, maybe he even agrees with the task Zhao Yunlan gives him, but perceives it as working against Heipaoshi's goals and thus feels unable to do them? Something related to Professor Shen's indeniable Dixingren status and hiding it maybe? Ideally with Chu Shuzhi coming to the realization that his lord and his boss are on the same page, actually.

Li Qian

I love how her story parallels and foreshadows Shen Wei’s. Her burdens and hurdles are fascinating, and I’d love to read about her finding her feet after leaving the university or at Haixing Labs. Canon divergences where she reaches out to Shen Wei and/or the SID would be great, too!

Prompts

• Battle Couple Weilan fighting together and intercepting shots/hits meant for the other, ideally ends with both of them injured and taking care of each other, either victorious or managing a temporary retreat. Could be set in YOHE, during Dixing's invasion or in a post-canon scenario!
• Pre-identity reveal (or pre-episode 20 where ZYL knows but SID doesn't), Shen Wei gets injured and has to rely on CSZ and/or CSZ and ZYL get stuck and have to work together to free themselves
• CSZ getting confirmation Shen Wei is a Dixingren pre-HPS-reveal and feeling very conflicted about it
• Li Qian figuring out what to do with her life after her grandma's death. Canon divergence where she turns to Professor Shen for advice or ends up involved with the SID would be great!
• Casefic in which the SID comes together to protect one of their own (e.g. keeping an injured Professor Shen from being handed over to Haixing Labs, hiding CSZ from the Regent, standing up for Zhao Yunlan to another Haixing inspector a la episode 16/17, etc.) Would love if Lin Jing's and Chu Shuzhi's potential conflict in loyalties is adressed :D!

Duan Tianying/Luo Fusheng

I enjoy Luo Fusheng and Duan Tianying’s developing relationship, how they grow from the early misunderstandings and mistakes into each other’s greatest support. Having to work through the early mistakes and assumptions they made leads to a sturdier basis for their subsequent romantic relationship, imo. Tianying starts with understandable misgivings about Luo Fusheng and his job as a mafia enforcer, she takes him at the mask he presents to the world and has to learn how to peel those layers back. Luo Fusheng, meanwhile, is someone who will put everyone he cares about before himself, he will give everything he has and more to make the people in his life happy, but hides this behind a cavalier mask. Tianying is good for him, imo, because she sees beyond his pretense and can take care of the injured soul behind the mask, and Luo Fusheng can support her loyally and unequivocally without ever worrying about her letting him fall (unlike everyone else in his life :/) I love that her voice can bring him enough peace to fall asleep without nightmares, and that he's always willing to protect her.

And let's not kid ourselves, Luo Fusheng is a service sub and Duan Tianying would rise perfectly to the occasion of being his kind mistress.

Luo Fusheng/Xu Xingcheng

I’m a fan of the headcanon that Xu Xingcheng is Luo Fusheng’s ex-boyfriend pre-France and how that impacts the love triangle. Their romance is a tragedy because Luo Fusheng loves him ot the bones and Xu Xingcheng takes him for granted. Especially his obliviousness to Luo Fusheng’s unquestioning loyalty to him and the tragedy of his accusations that LFS betrays him when the opposite is true: XXC always puts himself first, and LFS does everything in his power to put his loved ones first. I like how selfish and spoilt XXC is as an antagonist – though if you go the redemption arc route, I would love for him to grow up and realize how he is the one that did LFS dirty.

Duan Tianying/Luo Fusheng/Xu Xingcheng

There's a moment where Tianying and Xu Xingcheng are dating and Luo Fusheng has resigned himself to not have either of them, in which I could see a canon divergence taking them into throuple territory. It would take something to knock sense into Xu Xingcheng - because I do believe he cares about Luo Fusheng, he's just never learned to take another's feelings into consideration before. One way I could see this happening is if Tianying and XXC become aware of Luo Fusheng's sadness and loneliness, possibly by barging in on him drinking himself to a stupor because he cannot sleep. Tianying needs to see there's more depth behind the easy banter, and XXC needs a reminder that just because he's got his happiness, it came at a grave cost to others, and that maybe he should care about that.

Duan Tianying & Hong Lan

I like the rivalry between Hong Lan and Tianying. I would love for them to develop a friendship from there, or at least an appreciation and understanding. I like how condescending Hong Lan is, how much she abuses her power over Tianying, especially when she’s later forced to acknowledge Tianying after the Lin Ruomeng reveal as an equal. I would love something that focusses on Hong Lan’s character growth in this area, growing out of her selfish love for LFS and recognizing that LFS deserves happiness, even if it isn’t with her.
Similarly, I would love any fic that focusses on Hong Lan growing into and taking responsibility as the head of the Hong family after her father’s death, and how that affects her relationship to Tianying/Luo Fusheng. E.g. taking LFS back in as second-in-command and giving her blessing for him to marry Lin Ruomeng – what would lead her to something like that?

• Shen Yi Whump. He does pitiful drowned rat so well as a teen, and his propensity towards pushing himself beyond reasonable limits to solve a case provides a lot of options. I'm especially fond of the criminal kidnapping him, maybe even Shen Yi putting himself in danger by chasing a hunch without back-up. Naturally, the team runs themselves ragged to save him with Du Cheng leading the charge, possibly finding the clues Shen Yi put together and tracing his train of thoughts?
• Du Cheng backing up Shen Yi as he does a seemingly crazy play, without being aware what the plan is, just trusting Shen Yi blindly, always
• Shen Yi drawing his co-workers and it's all adorable and heart-warming compliments... and Du Cheng has a sudden revelation that he's in love when he sees how Shen Yi paints him, how Shen Yi sees, all righteous and just and loyal...

• a misunderstanding set in early canon leads to Du Cheng throwing hateful accusations at Shen Yi, who doesn't bother defend himself (he thinks worse of himself every night, this is nothing he doesn't deserve). Once his temper cools, Du Cheng feels bad about how he lost it (maybe is called out by one of his team who witnessed the scene?) and solves to apologize the next day. Except... Shen Yi doesn't show up at work. Or answer his phone. And when Du Cheng checks on his apartment that evening, he realizes Shen Yi went missing...

Mei Changsu /& Xiao Jingyan

I love how clever and smart everyone in this canon is, and that Mei Changsu is still two steps ahead of them usually, and if he's caught off-guard he is great enough at improvisation to twist the situation to his advantage. I love how clearly he keeps his three identities distinct: Su Zhe, the loathfully ambitious scholar, Mei Changsu, the politically-minded jianghu chief, and Lin Shu, the proper and filial son of the empire. And I love that when Xiao Jingyan looks at him, he sees all three as being the same person, all of the flaws and strengths making up the person he loves, no matter how much he seems to have changed on the surface with his new limitations.

Mu Nihuang

Consort Jing

What I love about her is how she knows exactly how to play the courtly game, even though this is *not* a life she chose for herself. How she was forced into concubinage by the Emperor's favour and then neglected for years, and yet she keeps her head low and waits for her chance. The knife's edge dance she performs every time the Emperor visits her, between choosing her words carefully to nudge him along towards her goals without letting him catch on to her true thoughts, forever in danger of his quick temper and rampant paranoia.

Prompts

• Canon AU or Divergence in which Mu Nihuang is officially wed to Xiao Jingyan. I could see this happening in a few different scenarios:
  1. Emperor Dad decides this is the easiest way to get Mu Nihuang away from her army and stuck in the city, while simultaneously plotting to keep Jingyan away from the capital on eternal army missions to avoid the two of them colluding against him.
  2. Mu Nihuang requests of Su Zhe to prove his capability by marrying her to Xiao Jingyan - if she has to marry she wants to marry the one man who will share her grief for Lin Shu. This is of course quite the difficult feat because the Emperor will fear the two of them colluding to avenge the Chiyan army, so Su Zhe will have to be very clever.
  3. Consort Jing being involved in convincing the Emperor to marry these two: they are childhood friends and Mu Nihuang won't be put off by Jingyan's military bearing, but understanding. Perhaps implying that they are both rather blunt and bad at hiding their true feelings, so the Emperor won't have to worry about a clever wife advancing Jingyan's Chiyan case goals within court.
• Pre-Canon: the wild, carefree childhood shenanigans of Lin Shu, Mu Nihuang and Xiao Jingyan
• Early Identity Reveals: what if Xiao Jingyan finds out first; Xiao Jingyan, Mu Nihuang and Consort Jing all realizing on their first meeting with Su Zhe who he truly is and just humouring Mei Changsu in his belief he's keeping the secret perfectly hidden; Xiao Jingyan and Mu Nihuang collaborating to better hide Mei Changsu's true identity to keep him safe
• Post-Canon Fix-It Outsider PoV making assumptions about Mei Changsu/Su Zhe being an advisor in Jingyan's court. I love rumours and wild gossip and seeing it contrasted with the truth!

Ji Yuansu's reputation for being a lazy womanizer offering them opportunities to play political games or to overhear gossip they may not otherwise
• I love how loyal Yuan Wei is to her mistress, and yet how exasperated at her antics. Anything that explores their sisterly bond and Yuan Wei's fealty to Hua Liuli would be A+
• Ji Yuansu not just being the Crown Prince but also basically his Imperial Father's spymaster is amazing. Ji Yuansu and Pei Jihuai chasing clues and gathering information on a case, maybe with help from Hua Liuli and Yuan Wei? Are the ministers plotting again, or is there an outside threat?
• Hua Liuli/Ji Yuansu's marriage - them working together to lead the kingdom into prosperity. Hua Liuli's deft hand in handling the harem. Outsider PoV of their marriage - what do the people think? Is Hua Liuli married to the Crown Prince to appease the Hua army or to keep her hostage? Everyone seeing this frail Princess Consort and worrying for her health while she's busy correcting her husband's military strategy.

Thoughts About Canon

. I adore the political/court intrigue, with our titular princess being a known schemer, clever and conniving and wielding her reputation with precision. And yet her heart is loyal to her brother, even when he suspects her. She plays everyone like a fiddle, including our male lead, who falls helplessly for her power and kinkiness. His slow realization of her true self underneath all those layers fascinates me. As do his loyalty and dedication to the Emperor, and yet he still chooses to request to be returned to Li Yunzhen after he's found out as a spy.

• Political plots and/or spy shenanigans! Maybe Li Yunzhen is holding court in her brother's absence, with Gu Xuanqing there to enforce her word, to ensure she's obeyed. Or perhaps the courtiers and ministers are conspiring to get rid of her and think they can turn Gu Xuanqing against her.
• Gu Xuanqing learning how to submit, their developing love/sex life and exploration of all the kinks they share and where the line is.
• Gu Xuanqing protecting Li Yunzhen or vice versa: he's her bodyguard and willing to give his life to protect her, but she's powerful and has a lot of political might to bring to bear to save him.
• A scene from mid-canon: why does Gu Xuanqing ask to return to the princess? After the betrayal, with his loyalty sworn to the Emperor, how does he fuse all those things with his developing love and devotion to Li Yunzhen?

• Post-canon melancholy: Yoohyeon sits on the throne, alone, all of her friends dead/vanished. Was it worth it? Does she remember better times? Does she try to find a way to fix it? (How often does she visit Jiu's grave of roses?)
• What if the first timeline isn't real? What if it's simply Yoohyeon's paranoia causing her to misread the signs and lash out? What if someone is manipulating her, sending her visions/dreams, stoking her distrust? What if she finds out all of Jiu's secrecy and whispers behind her back was actually because she intended to propose to Yoohyeon, but now she's dead at Yoohyeon's hand?

• Who are the characters, what's their role in this post-apocalyptic dystopian landscape? What happened? The song is a call to arms, to fight... but what? Thematically, the song continues Maison's warning about climate change and evil corporations, with Sua taking out The Devil/head of corporations in the end. What happened in the aftermath? Who grasped power in the vacuum left by those corporations? How long after Maison is Vision taking place?
• Jiu's, Gahyeon's, and Handong's outfits share a colour scheme, and through Handong's red-black the association can be stretched to Siyeon and Sua. Who are they to each other? Why are Yoohyeon and Dami outliers?
• Is Dami an antagonist? Or is she on the side of the group? She launches that energy shield to cover the Earth, but is that a good thing or a bad thing? In the Maison behind the scenes, Dami speculated about her character being a double agent - which side does she fall on, in the end? Is she betraying the group or the evil corporations?
• Yoohyeon and Sua seem to be removed in some way - they seem to me as if they represent supernatural forces/are goddesses of some kind. We see Sua in the pink clouds to start with, and then she "comes down to earth" in her next scene. Yoohyeon is visually distinct from the rest of the group, the only one in blue and with very different style of clothing, and she's the one to call down thunder, possibly giving everyone else their lightning powers.
• On that note, the ones fighting (in what to me looks like some sort of reator core?) are Yoohyeon, Jiu, Siyeon, Gahyeon, and Sua; but not Handong nor Dami. Possibly because they are fighting Dami, if she's the villain, but why not Handong? What's stopping her - was she injured, is she being held captive? Or was she corrupted?
