Happy Yuletide! :D This is my first time participating, so please forgive any errors :') I'm very excited for this, and I hope you find something in my request(s) that inspires you! All of this is entirely optional, of course, but I hope it gives you a little insight into why I like these canons <3

General DNWs: genderswap, anything related to cannibalism, graphic gore, unhappy endings (ambiguous is ok), hanahaki, sickfic, non-canonical permanent character death for canon characters;
for nsfw stuff: underage-under 16, watersports, scat, vore, sounding, enemas, ageplay, crossdressing, injured sex

General Likes:

• exploration of group dynamics – I prefer a relationship study over a character study, whether that relationship be familial, platonic, romantic, or antagonistic. I like seeing characters interact, with such tropes as e.g. team as family, found family, and fealty. But also emotional hurt/comfort with (non-contrived) misunderstandings is great!


• In the same vein, I love seeing characters using the systems they are in to their advantage, by e.g. using the right level of familiarity, matters of etiquette and politeness, trading of favours and calling in of debts, etc. to achieve their goal. Knowing the rules and when they can break them without repercussion :D! For the same reason, I love political/court intrigue.


• Similarly, characters doing everything they can in the name of protecting those that are dear to them, including misleading their loved ones about their goals and self-sacrifice (though please no perma-death!)


• more tropes I like: characters being competent/BAMF, Outsider PoV, secret identity porn, time travel (fix-it), casefic, domestic fluff, banter, Battle Couple, epistolary/multimedia (on its own or integrated into the fic in parts) – everything from text messages, the characters’ social media to excerpts from textbooks and memes


• nsfw stuff I like (it’s about the intimacy, trust and vulnerability): D/s, bondage, begging, alien biology, tentacles, enthusiastic consent, undernegotiated kink, kink negotiations, dirty talk, praise kink, happy sex/banter during sex, clothed sex, foreplay, aftercare

Tone: I love reading everything from silly crack-treated-seriously stories to serious treatises of the characters’ canon-compliant reactions to finding themselves in A Situation
Setting: I prefer canon-compliant or canon-adjacent fics, including canon divergences, fix-its, and Canon AUs (AKA AUs that are set in the same setting, but differ from the canon premise in some way; this includes supernatural AUs like werewolves, vampires etc., omegaverse, soulmate AUs)

Dreamcatcher's Vision

So Dreamcatcher just released their latest mini-album, Apocalypse: Follow Us, the sequel to their previous album Apocalypse: Save Us. The title track is Vision, and by God, I am OBSESSED *___* this song is like they tapped straight into my hindbrain and combined all the things I love about music and about Dreamcatcher's music in particular.

"Forward march!"

I love, love, love the music elements Dreamcatcher is leaning into with this song. It reminds me strongly of several of my favourite songs from Krypteria and Beyond the Black, with the techno-rock bits. And then you have the soft-voice bridges and third verse that are reminiscent of Within Temptation leading into the pre-chorus, giving the whole song that fantastic Dreamcatcher vibe.

They leaned a lot more into their metal-rock origins with Vision than the more pop-leaning (though still possessing metal elements, like the Latin chant at the end) Maison. Dami’s rap at the start of the second verse kills me every time (Turning over page, turning over page, turning over page, damn queen, go off! Jackie Chan, quickly, swiftly indeed.)

I’m looking forward to the third act in this trilogy! Very excited to see how the story ends :D

(and I’m sorely tempted to do something ficcy with all these vibes I’m getting while I’m obsessing over the song. But a part of me also wants to wait until the third part is out, so I’ll know more? Ahhhh, decisions, decisions!)
