Dear Candyhearts Creator
Dear
candyheartsex creator,
thank you so much for writing a story or creating art for me! My favourite thing to explore in fandom is the relationships between people, from romance to group dynamics. So I'm very excited for this exchange and whatever you create for me <3
I'm
missingnowrites on Ao3 and open to Treats!
General DNWs: breaking up requested ships, genderswap, anything related to cannibalism, graphic gore, unhappy endings (ambiguous is ok), hanahaki, sickfic, permanent character death for canon characters;
for nsfw stuff: underage-under 16, watersports, scat, vore, sounding, enemas, ageplay, crossdressing, injured sex
General Likes:
Fandom text is the same as on the requests!
In the same vein, I love the SID as a group and would greatly enjoy an ensemble fic – from office gossip to case flavour, everything's welcome. What's their perspective on Zhao Yunlan's courtship of Professor Shen? The Heipaoshi reveal? Working as a team and having each other's back, possibly when the regent shows back up to pester Chu Shuzhi or another inspector pokes their nose in? Working with Professor Shen in an official capacity as consultant without Zhao Yunlan hovering?
I'm especially interested in Chu Shuzhi and his complex relationships with Heipaoshi (whom he treats as his lord and saviour but who treats him as an equal in many ways, except when it comes to revealing secrets – and yet Chu Shuzhi immediately forgives him, while Shen Wei clearly feels a bit guilty) and with Chief Zhao (we see them working well together on early cases, with Chu Shuzhi taking cues from Zhao Yunlan during dangerous situations like in episode 4. And yet he's there to spy on the SID, and his remarks to Heipaoshi on how he's not sure who will win in a battle of politics and intrigue between HPS and Chief Zhao... just fascinates me, ngl).
Straight up domestic Weilan is good, too, though.
I would love a post-canon exploration of Weilan’s relationship and how their life as a family unit with Da Qing works out! Slice-of-life fic of work and daily life, in both their identities as civilians and gods, how deityhood affects their life and interactions. Anything about Zhao Yunlan remembering his past lives, particularly as Kunlun but also others and how he integrates those memories into his self-identity would be fun!
Similarly, explorations of the Zhao family and how they integrate Shen Wei – I enjoyed that Mama Zhao had a moment of grappling with homophobia, but clearly landed on a “I want my son to be happy” position that wasn’t free of prejudice, but she’s obviously trying. And I love love loved the way she immediately dunked on Zhao Yunlan, about how Shen Wei is clearly out of his league lmao
For Kunwei: anything exploring their unequal power dynamics in terms of Kunlun being more experienced and Wei being incredibly devoted to him to an unhealthy point, Wei falling in love (does Kunlun notice?), Kunlun being thoughtlessly cruel and that having lasting consequences ZYL tries to fix in modern day, etc.
exploration of Luo Fusheng/Duan Tianying's relationship (romantic or platonic), contrast of their relationship with other characters (e.g. Hong Lan, Xu Xingcheng, Huang Xinghan) Xu Xingcheng growing up and realizing he's the one who fucked up his and Luo Fusheng's relationship Hong Lan & Tianying's hate-rivalvry slowly turning into a friendship Tianying kicking martial ass/Battle Couple with Luo Fusheng
What I love about GYADL’s setting is the tension between the mafia families and the police, the connections between them and how they’re crumbling, the corruption and corrosion, what bonds survive, which are forged anew, what alliances are made and why.
I enjoy Luo Fusheng and Duan Tianying’s developing relationship, platonic and romantic (either works for me!), how they grow from the early misunderstandings and mistakes into each other’s greatest support. I would love fic that explores this and/or contrasts their relationship to LFS/DTY’s relationships to other characters.
I’m a fan of the headcanon that Xu Xingcheng is Luo Fusheng’s ex-boyfriend pre-France and how that impacts the love triangle. Especially his obliviousness to Luo Fusheng’s unquestioning loyalty to him and the tragedy of his accusations that LFS betrays him when the opposite is true: XXC always puts himself first, and LFS does everything in his power to put his loved ones first. I like how selfish and spoilt XXC is as an antagonist – though if you go the redemption arc route. I would love for him to grow up and realize how he is the one that did LFS dirty.
I like the rivalry between Hong Lan and Tianying, too. I would love for them to develop a friendship from there, or at least an appreciation and understanding. I like how condescending Hong Lan is, how much she abuses her power over Tianying, especially when she’s later forced to acknowledge Tianying after the Lin Ruomeng reveal as an equal. I would love something that focusses on Hong Lan’s character growth in this area, growing out of her selfish love for LFS and recognizing that LFS deserves happiness, even if it isn’t with her.
I love that Luo Fei is a high-empathy version of the Sherlock Holmes stereotype. He’s smart, he crosses lines in pursuit of cases, but ultimately he cares about the victims and bringing the dead/their loved ones justice. I enjoy his dynamic with Qin Xiaoman being the typical smart-and-strong cop duo, although I don’t read them as romantic personally (I don’t mind shippy fic, but would prefer the focus not to be on the romance in that case).
With Qin Xiaoman, I prefer the episodes in which she has stuff to contribute to cases outside her martial prowress (although seeing her kick ass would be great too! Especially in protection of Luo Fei 👀), either with Luo Fei being proud-mentor-vibes or surprised by her insight. I read her character as being competent but more easily blinded by her sympathy and her good faith in people than Luo Fei, who is more skeptical in nature.
For shipping, I prefer Luo Fei/Ben Jieming – especially with one-sided, pining Ben Jieming and Luo Fei being too busy with Work to realize. I also enjoy Luo Fei/Qin Xiaoman/Ben Jieming, platonic or romantic. I loved the old serial killer case where they had a lot of scenes together, each of them offering their expertise to solve the case as a team.
Ben Jieming one-sided pining for a(n oblivious?) Luo Fei is also great!
I love the time travel twist and betrayal in the Deja Vu MV. Who betrayed whom first? Is Yoohyeon justified in her actions? Does she regret? (Did she ever love Jiu in the first place?)
This is the one fandom where the "no unhappy endings" DNW doesn't apply. Go ham on the tragedy and angst! (Or fix it 👀 that's also a fascinating option)
Please use their stage names within the fic, not their real ones.
I have. So many Feels TM about Jiu going in and sacrificing herself to save her friends—and her sister, played by Gahyeon. Gahyeon is the only one who smiles when faced with Jiu pointing a gun at her, clearly recognizing and trusting her. All the more heartbreaking when she reaches out to Jiu after waking up, finding her trapped in that crystal.
What's going on inside Gahyeon's head? In Jiu's? Potential fix-it where Gahyeon & co manage to save Jiu in return? Or pre-MV, Jiu finding out about the situation and plotting to save her sister.
I especially love Desmond accidentally or on purpose traveling back in time to either Ezio or Altair. But any of the others returning to a pre-catastrophe point would be fun, too – e.g Leonardo saving the Auditore from execution and thus catching young Ezio's eye; Altaïr returning far changed from the arrogant youth he was much to Malik's suspicion...
If it's Desmond, I don't much care /how/ he returned if you'd like to skip the setup. I'm more interested in what he ends up doing, especially profession wise, how does he survive, how does he meet the assassins of old? How do they react to him, what changes does he make?
Smut also very welcome!
(Note: The English subs in the combined video misspell some of the character names - the princess is 李云贞 Li Yunzhen, not -zheng, and the emperor is 李承临 Li Chenglin, not -ling.)
Fandom-specific DNWs: submissive Li Yunzhen; Li Yunzhen not enjoying dominating her partner.
Eldest Princess On Top is a mini-drama with tiny, only minutes-long episodes - and it packs a punch. I adore the political/court intrigue, with our titular princess being a known schemer, clever and conniving and wielding her reputation with precision. And yet her heart is loyal to her brother, even when he suspects her. She plays everyone like a fiddle, including our male lead, who falls helplessly for her power and kinkiness. His slow realization of her true self underneath all those layers fascinates me. As do his loyalty and dedication to the Emperor, and yet he still chooses to request to be returned to Li Yunzhen after he's found out as a spy.
Anything with these two would delight me. More Li Yunzhen political plots, more spy shenanigans, or more BDSM and/or romance. A slice of their life post-canon? Li Yunzhen holding court in her brother's absence, with Gu Xuanqing there to enforce her word, to ensure she's obeyed? Gu Xuanqing learning how to submit properly? Or perhaps there's need for him to protect her -- or vice versa. Or perhaps a scene from mid-canon: why does Gu Xuanqing ask to return to the princess? After the betrayal, with his loyalty sworn to the Emperor, how does he fuse all those things with his developing love and devotion to Li Yunzhen?
I love love LOVE political/court intrigue. I would love anything related to that - Mei Changsu plotting (preferably mid-canon or in a post-canon AU where he lived). I love friends being protective of each other, too, so either Mei Changsu plotting to protect any of his friends/lover(s) (pre-relationship or established) or vice versa: the people who care about Lin Shu | Mei Changsu plotting to protect him in return. From dying, from social ostracization, giving him love and comfort and /life/, maybe even a will to live. His friends getting together to scheme for his survival would be great.
Alternately, his friends/lover(s) protecting him from a physical threat is always A+ in my books, especially if Mei Changsu pissed them off first xD
I would also love pre-canon pre-massacre Lin Shu, Nihuang & Jingyan shenanigans and fluff.

General Likes:
- exploration of group dynamics and/or relationships (familial, platonic, romantic, or antagonistic). I like seeing characters interact, with such tropes as e.g. team as family, found family, and fealty. But also emotional hurt/comfort with (non-contrived) misunderstandings is great!
- In the same vein, I love seeing characters using the systems they are in to their advantage, by e.g. using the right level of familiarity, matters of etiquette and politeness, trading of favours and calling in of debts, etc. to achieve their goal. Knowing the rules and when they can break them without repercussion :D! and especially if they do so in service of someone they love/are loyal to.
- Similarly, characters doing everything they can in the name of protecting those that are dear to them, including misleading their loved ones about their goals and self-sacrifice (though please no perma-death!)
- more tropes I like: characters being competent/BAMF, Outsider PoV, secret identity porn, time travel (fix-it), casefic, domestic fluff, banter, Battle Couple, epistolary/multimedia (on its own or integrated into the fic in parts) – everything from text messages, the characters’ social media to excerpts from textbooks and memes
- nsfw stuff I like (it’s about the intimacy, trust and vulnerability): D/s, bondage, begging, alien biology, tentacles, enthusiastic consent, undernegotiated kink, kink negotiations, dirty talk, praise kink, happy sex/banter during sex, clothed sex, foreplay, aftercare

镇魂 | Guardian (TV 2018)
While I mainly ship Weilan (and would prefer their relationship exists in some form, even if it's not the would love an exploration of the platonic/familial relationships in the show. In particular, the family unit that is Da Qing & Weilan, anything slice of domestic life in a happy ever after or Da Qing's opinions of Shen Wei as a suitable mate pre-relationship, his advice on wooing him, the like. Anything set during their time in YOHE would also be very welcome! In the same vein, I love the SID as a group and would greatly enjoy an ensemble fic – from office gossip to case flavour, everything's welcome. I would love anything that focuses on Orihime, either being a surprise girlboss (maybe saving her lover(s)?), appreciated for her strengths by him/them, being underestimated by an enemy, kidnapped by an idiot who doesn't know about her OP boyfriend(s), and/or said boyfriend(s) being overprotective and overkill.Smut also very welcome!
